The Udurchukan Formation forms part of the Tsagayan Group in South-eastern Russia. It underlies the Bureya Formation and sits upon the Kundur Formation. It dates from the Maastrichtian age of the Upper Cretaceous, 66-72 million years ago.
The formation comprises mainly of mudstone, conglomerate sedimentary rock, along with sand.
The area's bone beds are best known for the hadrosaurid finds from a variety of species.
