Research is the means through which most unlocks are earned in Jurassic World Evolution. Research unlocks are earned across all islands with unique unlocks being exclusive to all respective DLC.
Description
Research is done exclusively through the Research Center while new unlocks are earned through progression. Research related progression takes the form of increasing a park's star rating, increasing division reputation, building each respective island's Research Center, completing each division's island-specific missions, and completing the genome of specific dinosaurs related to Hybrid Projects.
In the campaign, depending on how different unlocks are earned, the player will either automatically unlock or have to pay the research costs for a given unlock.
In Challenge Mode, all research unlocks must be purchased, with research related progression exclusively taking the form of increasing a park's star rating.
