Stegoceratops is a genetically modified species of dinosaur in the Evolution series. Created by Dr. Henry Wu via combining the base genome of Stegosaurus and Triceratops, it is included in the Secrets of Dr. Wu in Evolution and the Secret Species Pack in Evolution 2.
History
While it isn't known to have ever been created by InGen, this hybrid did appear in a computer screen in Henry Wu's laboratory alongside the Indominus rex and two other unidentified hybrids: One that resembles a pachycephalosaur and another that resembles a therizinosaur.[1]
Dr. Wu designed Stegoceratops at the Hammond Creation Laboratory alongside a number of other hybrid dinosaurs, including the highly intelligent apex predator Indominus rex. Wu’s plan was to create a series of new and exciting dinosaurs to increase the number of visitors to Jurassic Park, engineering new genera that presented a combination of the most impressive or notable features of existing dinosaurs.
Characteristics
A result of world-renowned geneticist Dr. Henry Wu's genetic experiments using hybridization, Stegoceratops is a hybrid dinosaur unlike any other animal on Muertes Archipelago, comprised primarily of the DNA of Stegosaurus and Triceratops. Its name translates to "Roof-Horned Face". Having the modified head of Triceratops with multiple, abnormally large horns on its head, and the body of Stegosaurus with solid plates covering the length of its entire body in various sizes, Stegoceratops measures up to 12 meters in length and four tonnes in weight. Its intimidating horns coupled with its spiked tail, neck, and back make this armored species a formidable challenge for even the largest predators. It also contains the DNA of a beetle, providing the genus with a thick, tough armour that protects it from predators.
The base genome of the Stegoceratops is dark grey with creamy underbelly. And the plates on its back are reddish orange with dark brown stripes.

Evolution
Like the Stegosaurus and unlike the Triceratops, Stegoceratops likes to live in herds. Unless modified, they require at least three herdmates to be content. Keep this in mind before establishing a paddock for them. They prefer a mostly grassland covered paddock with some trees. In terms of species to share the paddock, Stegoceratops can get along fine with any other herbivore who is also social.
Small carnivores such as Deinonychus can also coexist with it fine as while they might briefly face off, the small carnivores won't dare attack and will back off. That said however, larger carnivores are completely incompatible. Stegoceratops is deceptively strong despite its stats and can kill large theropods in a confrontation.
While fighting against other carnivores, Stegoceratops uses its tail to attack its opponent before using its horn to deliver the killing animation, making it the only dinosaur in Jurassic World Evolution with this behavior.
Evolution 2
Although Stegoceratops is a young genus with a limited history, studies of its behaviour have shown that it prefers a similar habitat to its ancestors Stegosaurus and Triceratops – forests and grasslands with plenty of vegetation.

Behind the scenes
Stegoceratops was created for 2015's Jurassic World, where it made a brief appearance on a computer terminal in Dr. Wu's lab near the climax of the film.[1] Despite being cut from Jurassic World, Stegoceratops has appeared in almost all Jurassic World media such as books, toys, and games such as Ludia's Jurassic World: The Game and Jurassic World: Alive.
