Honestly, the flying animals concern me the most from a security standpoint. We can round up escaped land animals, but once they take to the sky, all bets are off. That is a Cearadactylus, and we need to make sure it stays confined to the aviary. Until today, the only known species of this animal was named after the Latin name for "Frightful". That should tell you something. |
Cearadactylus is a genus of flying reptile in Jurassic World Evolution 2. A relatively small species of pterosaur originating from Early Cretaceous South America, Cearadactylus can be excavated from the Romoualdo Formation Dig Site in South America, and like all flying reptiles, are enclosed exclusively in an Aviary.
Characteristics[]
With a wingspan of approximately between 4 and 5 meters, Cearadactylus is a relatively large pterosaur with a long beak and thin, sharp teeth that allow this piscivore to dip down into water and grab fish to eat. Its large eyes ensure it is always aware of any potential threats from nearby predators. This flying reptile's full name (Cearadactylus atrox) translates to "Ceara's Frightful Finger", a reference to the location of its discovery and its sharp talons.
Gameplay[]
Behaviour[]
Cearadactylus is a typical species of pterosaur, and are enclosed exclusively in an Aviary. While they are content with solitude, they also tolerate a social group of up to six Cearadactylus and an enclosure population of up to twenty different species. They are a relatively easy species to care for, disliking only the Indominus rex and the Indoraptor, the latter of which can hunt the pterosaur.

Paleontology[]
Although the exact details of its discovery are not known, the first acknowledgement of Cearadactylus as a new genus came in 1985 when fossil collectors Giuseppe Leonardi and Guido Borgomanero named the one artefact that had been found ā a partial skull that was found in the Romualdo Formation, Brazil. Cearadactylus is a relatively large pterosaur, with a wingspan of 4 to 5.5 m (13 to 18 ft) and weighing 15 kg (33 lb).
Paleoecology[]
Cearadactylus lived in South America approximately 110 million years ago, during the Early Cretaceous period. Its diet of fish show that it lived near to water. The females laid their eggs in tall trees and on cliffs in order to protect them from predators.
Behind the scenes[]
The Cearadactylus first appeared in the 1990 novel Jurassic Park, where it was housed in the Isla Nublar Aviary.
